| Bio: | This is me. Tasha. 20 year old living in Carson City, Nevada. I don't really have any goals, I'm not going to college, and I work as a stagehand. Probably your typical post-high school loser. I'm not stupid, although not going to school is probably pretty damn stupid. I was offered two full-ride scholorships; one to MIT, which I had no interest in going to, and one to the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. I actually kind of thought about that one, because I'm something of a writer and journalism has always fascinated me. However, because I lack motivation, I turned both of them down. It would have been a waste of money. I have an off-beat sense of humor and a love of all things strange. I'm somewhat witty and I love to dig at my friends. Hopefully they know I'm fucking around, because if not a lot of my friends are probably only still friends with me because they're afraid of me. I'm satyrical, sarcastic, ironic, bitchy, and cynical, but don't let that stop you from getting to know me, because I'm also unfailingly loyal to the people I choose as friends. I have a huge hatred towards stupidity, though, so if you're stupid it's probably best not to even try to befriend me. I'm a grammar whore; one of the majors I was considering was English. I'm also kind of violent; sharp objects and guns are things that fascinate me and one of my favorite movies of all time is Full Metal Jacket. I was in NJROTC, which might explain this strange twist of mind. Then again, I always used to shave my Barbie's heads, make them BDU's (battle dress uniform...the camoflage shit they wear in the military), and make them attack the neighbor boy's GI Joes. He hated me for it because I invariably melted his favorite toy of the moment. So I guess I've always been this way. I'm currently employed by the International Alliance of Theatre and Stage Technicians (IATSE), local 363. This is an international (duhhh) union of stage technicians and filmmaking crew. If you watch almost any major motion picture made in the United States and Canada, IATSE probably had something to do with it. Next time you go to see your favorite band, look up and check out the lighting truss. Look down at the risers that the drum is sitting on. Take a gander at the speakers hanging from motor chains. That's IATSE. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't be able to see your favorite shows. I hate children. I can't stand the little fuckers...except for two children. There are two small children in this world that I love and adore and would die for. That's my baby sister Nicole, who is eight years old this year, and my boyfriend's daughter Adrian, four, who is a very polite and articulate little angel. These children have somehow wormed their way into my heart and if you fuck with them, you fuck with me. End of story. In case you haven't picked up on it, I swear quite a bit. I love profanity; I fucking love it. There are few words in the English language that convey exactly the meaning that the forbidden words do, and they're so flexible about it. As a writer, I love them. As a member of society...well, seeing as I'm a bit of a shit-disturber, I love them as well. I have a wonderful boyfriend, the love of my life. He's 34, his name is Kenny, and I absolutely adore him. We're both in the union, along with my father. We're all also rather dedicated to the union; my father and I got the IATSE bug tattoed on us. I'm opinionated, extremely liberal, registered independant, and I invite you to debate with me. I love a good debate. I even love a good fight, so long as we can end it and agree to act like adults after it's all over. If you can't act like an adult about differing opinions, then I see no reason to treat you like an adult and will then treat you like the idiot you are. I follow no religion, only a set of moral beliefs that I find to be true. I cannot condone any one religion as right, because I do not believe in God as an infallible higher being. God is there, in all His or Her beauty and majesty...we just have to put the religious bullshit away for a second and really find Him. Take your nose out of that book you put so much faith in (you know, the one that explains how to sell your daughter and that only women can commit adultery...because men can have sex with whoever they want, whenever they want) and look at the world around you, look at the snow-capped mountains that loom over my hometown....look at the beauty of Lake Tahoe....look at the smiling face of a small child. And then, my friend, you have found God. God is not at church or in a book. God is around us, everywhere. It's up to you to decide what form He's in, and how to worship him. Or not to worship him at all. I'm a chain-smoker. I'm a stoner. I'm a writer. I'm a girlfriend, a sister-figure to two adorable little girls, a nonfeminist, a lover, a daughter, a sister, a friend. I'm so many things that I can't classify myself. I don't even bother anymore; I'm just me, Tasha. I belong to many things, but the most important is that I belong where I am.
